Global Business Challenge

Published on April 15, 2011
March 28, 2012

The seventh annual Global Business Challenge (GBC) will take place on Wednesday, March 28, 2012.

The annual Global Business Challenge is not for the faint of heart or those easily distracted. It appeals to young people who love a challenge, think on their feet, collaborate readily with new colleagues (team members), and can focus under the close scrutiny of top global corporate leaders.

Immediately before the start of the Challenge, participants are assigned to a multinational team of students. Each team receives one laptop and a flash drive with a complex business problem based on a business case study. Their job is to analyze company data, identify relevant information for the assigned task, and prepare a business strategy which they present to judges from global corporations. Students have 2 1/2 hours to prepare a presentation developed on their shared laptop. As the teams work judges observe and evaluate performance, professionalism and effectiveness.

Note: If a practice firms participate in the Challenge, the firm must also participate as an exhibitor in the International Trade Fair which takes place on Thursday, March 29, 2012.
